When the season’s spending increases, many people will turn to their local credit union for financial assistance. Preparations for many in the South Cavan and North Longford area begin with a visit to North Longford & Arva Credit Union, which is making their members’ festive wishes come true with a six percent Christmas loan.

In preparation for a busy Christmas holiday, Credit Union offers flexible loans when members need them most from a lender who takes care of them. The North Longford & Arva Credit Union is owned by the members, the people who save and borrow, and provides access to fair and equitable loan rates.

Speaking about Credit Union’s membership activities, Stephen McDermott, CEO, said: “We are preparing for a busy December and Christmas season. We are a not for profit cooperative, we only exist to serve our members, not to benefit from their needs.

Credit union decisions are made by locals to improve the community in which we operate. We are local, loyal, and lending.

We currently offer loans from € 100,000 to € 40,000 for all of our members’ needs.

“When the Bank of Ireland left Arva in October it was a setback for the city, but the range of services we offer fills many of the gaps and our community appreciates that. We’re here for the long term. “

Stephen says that the Credit Union will offer a number of additional services in the New Year: “We will have an ATM on the street and also a way for members to pay their direct debits.”

The CEO of North Longford & Arva Credit Union looks forward to meeting member needs over the coming year: “Our Credit Union is very proud to maintain its independent status. In the absence of a bank in the city, we provide a very important financial service within the community. Our loan book is open and we want to help members meet their financial goals. “

Stephen finally thanked all employees and the board for their commitment in the last difficult year. “Our thanks also go to our members who have supported us during this time. We wish all our employees, members and friends all the best for Christmas ’21 and a successful and healthy New Year.”
