CLEVELAND, Dec. 20, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Cross-country mortgage (CCM), one of the fastest growing mortgage lenders in the country, is the official mortgage partner of the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl 2021, which will be held Wednesday night at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. Wednesday’s game, which begins at 7 p.m. CST on ESPN, will feature the independent Army West Point Black Knights (8-4) and the Missouri Tigers (6-6) of the Southeastern Conference.

The Armed Forces Bowl, known as “The Bowl for the Brave,” highlights all branches of the military and includes a series of pre and in-game activities that draw attention to the victims of the nation’s heroes. It is the only bowl game in which all three US military academies were represented several times, most recently in 2018 Army.

The bowl is also a source of civic pride for the city of Fort Worth, which has hosted the game since the game was founded in 2003. As part of this relationship, each year the Bowl sponsors an audition visit for players on each team at Cook Children’s Medical Center, a federally accredited children’s hospital based in downtown Fort Worth. Due to pandemic restrictions, CCM arranged for FAO Schwarz to deliver toys to dozens of hospital patients.

“This annual game and the dozen of pre-kick-off activities remind us of what matters most in our lives – the selfless individuals who help protect our nation and the obligations to families and communities that keep us united and strong” , said CrossCountry Mortgage Founder and CEO Ron Leonhardt Jr., “We are extremely proud to support this exciting event and to help cheer up the lives of children with significant health challenges.”

Since 2014, the Armed Forces Bowl has been the bowl game with the highest score. In last year’s game, played on December 31, the Mississippi state of Tulsa squeaked, 28-26. In the NFL draft, 84 players were selected to take part in the Armed Forces Bowl. The 2015 game’s MVP, Jared Goff, became number 1 overall in the 2016 draft.
