Grant applications open to provide companies with technical support, access to capital and flexible jobs
Governor Dan McKee and the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation announced on October 21 that applications for the Network Matching Grant Program are open until 2:00 p.m. on November 30, 2022.
The program provides matching grants of at least US$50,000 to eligible entities that provide technical assistance to businesses, create or expand programs for access to capital, and/or provide premises for businesses to use on flexible terms.
“We’ve seen the outsized impact of efforts that hit businesses where they are — whether it’s providing targeted technical assistance or access to new facilities or soft loans or grants,” Gov. Dan McKee said. “The Network Matching Grant program provides this type of targeted support, and we’re excited to see what types of applications will emerge in this pivotal year of rebuilding for Rhode Island’s economy.”
Applications for Network Matching Grants are open to nonprofit organizations, for-profit organizations, colleges and/or co-working space operators in Rhode Island that support advanced industries, opportunity industries and local industries in the state. This includes industries such as life sciences, technology, defense and the blue economy.
“We are at a critical juncture for Rhode Island’s economy, and programs like the Network Matching Grant can help catalyze and amplify our economic comeback, as well as stand-up programs that fill gaps in support that… offered in our current ecosystem,” said Liz Tanner, Rhode Island Secretary of Commerce. “For example, we’ve recently seen a gap in support for technology-related business growth, including fintech and clean tech. The Network Matching Grants are a clear way to support these and other priority industries.”
