Iowa Finance Authority makes grants to several local trust funds for local housing
The Iowa Finance Authority’s Board of Directors has awarded more than $ 9 million in grants to 27 Local Housing Trust Funds to support local housing initiatives.
Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Trust Fund receives over $ 390,000. They serve counties like Buena Vista, Clay, and O’Brien.
The Homeward Housing Trust Fund receives over $ 369,000. They serve counties such as Pocahontas, Calhoun and Palo Alto.
Sac County’s Council of Governments Housing is receiving more than $ 307,000.
The Western Iowa Community Improvement Regional Housing Trust Fund is awarded more than $ 304,000. The counties they serve include Cherokee and Ida.
The scholarships are made available through the Local Housing Trust Fund program and are designed to help more than 21-hundred families. The grant funds will be used for initiatives such as maintaining the aging housing stock, subsidizing local rental and down payment assistance programs, providing low-interest loans or grants to support home renovation in Iowern, financing the construction of new single family homes for low-income Iowans, and supportive housing for people with Iowans Disabilities and homelessness programs.
