Pension offers worth £ 20 billion in the first half of 2021


By Martin Croucher (Sep 17, 2021 2:34 p.m. BST) – The UK pension systems have insured £ 20.4 billion ($ 28.1 billion) in member benefits in the first six months of the year, according to Aon PLC’s Friday published figures.

The professional services and brokerage giant said the numbers show a “relatively sluggish” start to the year after a record-breaking 2020 when more than £ 54 billion in pension contracts were signed.

Aon said the drop in transaction numbers was likely due to the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic and social restrictions that are hindering business deals.
