Sandboxx raises $ 8 million in growth funding

Sandpitx, a Washington, DC-based platform that navigates military life, completed a $ 8 million growth financing round.

Supporters were Boathouse Capital (lead), PenFed Foundation and others.

Led by Sam Meek, CEO and Co-Founder, Sandboxx is a military platform that enables military personnel to safely navigate connections in military life by connecting military personnel with loved ones, career pursuits, and lifestyle utilities.

The company’s first product, Sandboxx Letters, digitized the delivery of physical letters and enabled service members to maintain meaningful bonds with family and friends back home during basic training.

The company also announced today that it is supporting more than 70% of this recruiting pipeline through its Letters product and in-app content to prepare for basic education. Written in the app, Sandboxx prints these letters and delivers them to all recruiting installations faster than conventional mail – so new service members receive support days earlier. Each Sandboxx letter includes reply paper and an envelope, as well as additional items such as gift cards.

With the entry into the next phase, the company is now expanding its focus on supporting service employees beyond basic training. Starting with new features like a digital wallet for post-mail shopping, a tracker for career progression, and secure unit communication, Sandboxx offers a roadmap of products dedicated to military success from recruitment to retirement.
